Newkirk Electric Maintenance Garage

The maintenance garage addition at Newkirk Electric was constructed of a pre-engineered
metal building with insulated metal panels and brick veneer. The interior of the building is
mostly garage space to service their vehicles, but also consists of six offices, a parts room, new
restroom and break area, and a mezzanine overlooking the garage with a conference room,
locker room, and additional storage space.

This project had three phases: the 63,071 sq ft manufacturing phase addition, the 3,367 sq ft office phase addition, and the 1,094 sq ft receiving addition phase. The manufacturing addition was a new PEMB furnished by Nucor and included six new loading docks. The Office addition featured a new main entrance with an expanded break Room, a new lobby, a training Room, a conference Room, and locker rooms. The new Receiving area included three new interior offices and parts storage for maintenance.

Howmet Alcoa Plants 3&4
- Whitehall, MI
This project consisted of two phases: Howmet Plant 3 and Howmet Plant 4. Both had unique challenges. Plant 3 needed to stay open during construction and Plant 4 required a large furnace pit that needed to be constructed before any foundation could be laid. Plant 3’s project scope included rerouting existing sewer lines, interior demolition, new loading docks, and new office space. Plant 4’s project scope included the installation of a 5-ton bridge crane and creation of a staging area, breakroom, technician room, and mezzanine.
